In September 2014, President Obama issued a challenge to cities, towns, counties and tribes across the country to become My Brother’s Keeper (MBK) Communities. This challenge represents a call to action for all members of our communities, and mayors in particular, as they often sit at the intersection of many of the vital forces and structural components needed to enact sustainable change through policy, programs, and partnerships.
I am humbled to announce that I will be presenting at the My Brother’s Keeper Network of Palm Beach County’s 2016 MBK Race to Equity Summit.
The topic that I will be presenting on is: Improving College Access and College Retention through Mentoring.
The event will be held February 8th – 9th at the Palm Beach County Convention Center.
This conference will bring together people from government, community organizations, businesses, local residents and leaders from across the state and country. Participants will engage in meaningful dialogue and action that promotes racial equity in Palm Beach County and across the South Florida region.
